It’s time for front post double crochet (fpdc)!
This is a fun stitch where you make a normal double crochet, but you put your stitch around the post of the double crochet instead of in the top of the stitch.

Once you nail the front post double crochet, then you’ll quickly want to learn back post double crochet (bpdc) too.
There are lots of cool patterns that use both fpdc and bpdc together to make really interesting textures. Two of the most famous and popular are basketweave stitch and waffle stitch.
